Air Cooling
Air cooling is efficient and time tested concept to provide comfortable atmosphere, total heat present in the ambient air comprises of two elements viz. Latent and sensible. Human beings are affected by sensible heat only. The evaporative cooling plant converts sensible heat into latent heat consequently reducing the dry bulb temperature of air. For example ambient air during peak summer having 45 0 C dbt and 20% RH when passed through air cooling plant (Air Washer) loses its sensible heat (and dry bulb temperature) to reduce to 29 0 C and 92% RH. This cool air is supplied to Room / Hall / Building through a network of well designed ducting, the cool air supplied picks up the sensible heat of area reducing its dry bulb temperature and providing cooling effect.
These air cooling plants are sized on the basis of air capacity which is determined by considering total sensible heat generated in the department.
